These Terms govern your use of COMPANIN ("the Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree, do not use COMPANIN.
1. Eligibility
- You must be 18 years or older.
- You must provide accurate registration information and keep it current.
- One account per person. Multiple accounts may be suspended.
2. The Service
COMPANIN is a marketplace that connects customers ("Customers") with verified companions ("Providers"). We do not employ Providers — they are independent contractors who set their own rates and availability. COMPANIN facilitates discovery, booking, communication, and payment.
3. Bookings & payments
- All payments must run through the COMPANIN platform (Stripe). Off-platform payments are a violation and grounds for permanent ban.
- COMPANIN charges a platform commission (typically 18%, reduced to 8% for Premium customers). The remainder is paid out to the Provider via Stripe Connect.
- Cancellations: customers may cancel before the booking start time; providers may decline. Refunds follow our Refund Policy linked in the booking confirmation.
4. Acceptable use
You will not:
- Solicit or offer explicit sexual services. COMPANIN is a non-explicit, social companionship platform.
- Engage in harassment, threats, hate speech, or discrimination.
- Use the Service for any illegal purpose.
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity.
- Attempt to scrape, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the Service.
Violations may result in immediate account suspension, removal of content, forfeiture of pending payouts, and reporting to law enforcement.
5. Verification & KYC
Providers must complete identity verification (KYC) before accepting paid bookings. Customers may be asked to verify their email address and/or phone number. Verification data is processed under our Privacy Policy.
6. Disputes
If a booking goes wrong, raise a dispute via the in-app Report this booking button within 7 days. COMPANIN will review and resolve disputes at its sole discretion. Where appropriate, refunds and provider-side chargebacks are issued via Stripe.
7. Content licence
You retain ownership of any content (photos, reviews, messages) you post, but you grant COMPANIN a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to host, display, and reproduce it within the Service.
8. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from Profile → Settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms. Some data must be retained for legal/financial reasons — see our Privacy Policy.
9. Disclaimers
- COMPANIN is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind.
- We do not guarantee any specific outcome from a booking.
- You meet other users at your own risk — read our Safety Guidelines and take precautions.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, COMPANIN's total liability arising out of or in connection with the Service shall not exceed the greater of £100 or the total commissions you paid us in the preceding 12 months.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email and an in-app banner at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the new Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales. Disputes will be resolved by the courts of London.
